From a very early age Alex was enrolled in organized sports such as soccer and hockey, but it became quite clear early on that his calling was in Theatre and not sports. Alex would put on performances for his family and was always playing characters or putting on voices. After seeing his natural love for performance, Alex was enlisted in The Ottawa School of Speech and Drama where he began to study and hone his craft at the age of 9.
His love for Acting only grew and led him to want to continue his training in High School. Alex attended the arts High School Canterbury for theatre. There he developed the groundwork for text and scene work, Shakespeare and period pieces as well as Clown, Mask and Character work. After four great years there, it was clear as ever to Alex that he wanted to become an actor. He continued his training at York University’s Acting Conservatory program in Toronto. There he was trained in contemporary, classical and restoration scene work. Movement techniques such as The Alexander Technique, Laban, Yoga, gridwork, Growtowski and Suzuki.
As well as vocal training which consists of I.P.A. dialect training and proper vocal performance techniques. He’s also received combat training from Simon Fon and intimacy training from Siobhan Richardson.
Having now graduated from York University with a bachelors of fine arts, and now being based in Toronto, Alex is thrilled to be able to have the ever fulfilling job he’s always dreamed of having since he was 9 years old, be a professional actor.
I began my acting career as a child in Ottawa. After high school, I moved to Toronto to study. Once there, I formed a small traveling experimental theater group. After graduation, we traveled together and performed for five years before I decided to relocate to Los Angeles and pursue more on-screen work.
I act both on stage and screen. I am also available for voice over acting and hosting. Please see my resumé for the details of my experience and skills.
For the last year, I have been running classical theater workshops. I also recently began production on an independent movie that I co-wrote with my collaboration group. To hear more of what I am up to, follow me on social media.
